Four members of the Ceylinco Life Toastmasters Club emerged as winners in the Humorous and Evaluation Speech Contests of the J1 Area held recently.
Ms. Dilhani Mannage emerged as the Winner of the Humorous Speech Contest with Ms. Keshani Samarakoon achieving the Second Runner-Up position. The Humorous Speech contest evaluates a contestant’s ability to adhere to the fundamental facets of effective speech-making and communication while doing so in a humorous, creative, and light-hearted manner.
Mr. Gayan Lakmal Alwis and Ms. Izzath Ramlan achieved the Runners–Up and the Second Runners–Up awards respectively in the Evaluation Speech Contest, where participants must evaluate a speaker’s speech and presentation in relation to a specific set criterion which provides valuable feedback for the speaker, while also sharpening the communication and analytical skills of the evaluator.
The Ceylinco Life Toastmasters Club recently embarked towards its 10th year with the installation ceremony selecting the new executive committee and outlining the plan for the year 2023/24.
