Qualifying for Protection

Is there an age limit?

Yes, you will need to be between 18 to 55 years old on your nearer birthday to apply for the cover.

1.How much sum assured can I purchase?

The sum assured is fixed based on the plan type purchased as follows:

2.What are the covers/ benefits provided?

This insurance plan provides financial support in the following situations:

  • Death Benefit– A lump sum payment equal to death benefit is made to your family if you pass away.
  • Accidental Death Benefit – An additional payment equal to death benefit is made if death occurs due to an accident.
  • Critical Illness Cover – You will receive a payout if you’re diagnosed with or undergone surgery for any of the following six major illnesses:
      1. Cancer
      2. Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
      3. Stroke
      4. Major Organ Transplant
      5. Coronary Artery Surgery
      6. Kidney Failure (Renal Failure)

3. When will I start to be protected?

Your insurance cover begins once:

      1. You’ve made your first premium payment, after acceptance of your coverage and
      2. Your policy certificate is issued, confirming acceptance of the cover.

4.What are the waiting periods for this insurance cover?

  • There is a 90-day waiting period from the date of cover acceptance for all benefits (ie covers) except Accidental Death Benefit.
  • This means claims for Death Benefit (non-accidental) or Critical Illnesses Cover can only be made after this waiting period.
  • Accidental Death Benefit claims are covered immediately after the policy is activated.

5.How long will I be protected for?

This plan provides protection for one year’s period from the Certificate Effective Date.

Fees & Charges

1.How is my premium being calculated for this plan?

This is an annual premium policy, which means you pay once a year for your coverage.

Your premium amount is based on your current age at the time of joining the plan. The older you are, the higher the premium may be.

2.What happens to my policy after a claim is paid out?

If a claim is made (for death benefit or critical illness cover), the policy will be automatically terminated after the payout.

3.How do I pay for my premium?

Payments can be made using the below in the PickMe application:

Making a Claim

1.Who will get the money if something happens to me?

For a critical illness claim, we will pay to the Life Assured upon diagnosis of a critical illness. As for death, we will pay the claim to the nominee nominated by you. The claimant will have to notify Ceylinco Life and furnish documentary evidence to substantiate their claim. Please refer to the Annexure 1 in the policy document for more information.

2.How do I change my nominee?

You can make changes to your current nominee by filling up the nominee form. You can download the relevant form from the button given below. You will be required to personally visit the nearest Ceylinco Life branch along with your NIC (NIC of the policyholder) and hand over the completed form.

3.What particulars of my nominees do you require? 

The information required is the name in full, date of birth, National identification number, relationship, percentage of share. This information will help us to speed up claim processing and with greater accuracy.

4.How to submit a claim?

Follow our claims process to make a claim. You can download the relevant forms from the button given below. Please hand over the completed forms to the nearest Ceylinco Life branch. 

5.How can I check claim status?

Termination & Cancellation

1.In what circumstances will my insurance coverage terminate?

The insurance coverage of any Assured Member shall automatically cease on the earliest of the following: –

      1. Upon Death or Critical Illness claim of the Assured Member whichever occurs first
      2. Upon reaching the age of 56
      3. If the cover is not renewed within 30 days of the date of expiry of the certificate
      4. If the company decided to discontinue the cover at the next policy anniversary.
