A stately colonial era mansion has been acquired by Ceylinco Life for a training centre for the companyâ€™s staff and sales force.
Located at No 2, Gower Street, Colombo 5, the building is adjacent to the Ceylinco Life Tower, the companyâ€™s purpose-built head office since 27th February 2010.
The acquisition results in a significant addition to the life insurance leaderâ€™s real estate portfolio, and provides a convenient location for training facilities.
The new training centre was ceremonially declared open on 2nd January 2013 by Ceylinco Life Managing Director/CEO R. Renganathan as one of the activities connected with the celebration of the companyâ€™s 25th anniversary on 14th January 2013.
â€œStaff training has always been a priority at Ceylinco Life,â€ Mr. Renganathan said. â€œCeylinco Life was the first insurer in Sri Lanka to have its own residential training centre, and this facility in Colombo is a noteworthy expansion of our training infrastructure.â€
The two-storey mansion built on 67.2 perches of land with Havelock Road frontage was completed in 1937. It provides 3,200 square feet of space and extensive secured parking.
Ceylinco Lifeâ€™s head office which adjoins the property is located at No. 106, Havelock Road, Colombo 05 and comprises 62,000 square feet of planned office space on of 12 levels, including a basement car park.
